The Level 1 Teacher Training Program is the first level of a three tiered KRI certification program in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan ®. It consists of 220 hours (180 hours in class and 40 hours independent study) fulfilling the Yoga Alliance’s national standard for a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT). With your KRI certification, you can apply for and receive a Yoga Alliance Certificate.

This Foundations course introduces the student to the principles and practices of the self-sensory human, and explores how Kundalini Yoga and yogic lifestyle can harmonize and uplift the human experience and awaken your true potential. There are six principle components in a Level 1 program:

*Kriya and Meditation: The foundation of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan®
The theory and practice of Kundalini Yoga kriyas (yoga sets), asanas, and mudras. Explore the nature of the mind and its training through Kundalini Yoga meditations, mantras, and pranayam (breathing techniques).

*Humanology and Philosophy: The Lifestyle of a Kundalini Yoga Teacher
The history and tradition of Kundalini Yoga, as well as the underlying philosophy behind all yogic practices. The technologies of Kundalini Yoga as they apply to healing and humanology (the science of daily living), including diet, nutrition, and relationships.

*Anatomy & Physiology: Essentials of Yogic and Functional Anatomy
Traditional Western anatomy, its purpose and function, including the respiratory, nervous, immune, musculoskeletal, circulatory, endocrine, and digestive systems and their relation to the practice and teaching of yoga. Also Yogic anatomy and the energy systems of the body including the chakras, nadis, pranas and vayus, and the ten yogic bodies.

*Consciousness of a Teacher: Virtues and Values of Living in the Golden Chain
The skills and techniques to become an effective instructor, including practical strategies for teaching beginners, ethical guidelines, curriculum development, and the transformational role of the teacher in developing a successful yoga practice.

*The Master’s Touch: Cultivating a Connection to the Master
Connect with Yogi Bhajan through DVD classes and study.

*The Practicum: Teaching from Day One
Practical experience instructing a yoga class under the supervision of a KRI Yoga Teacher Trainer, receiving written evaluation and student feedback.

With this program, you will share in the profound experience of spiritual, physical and mental growth while being supported both by your Teacher Trainers and other teachers in training. The authentic experience of your personal transformation is held in highest regard by your professional KRI certified team therefore you can depend on their availability as well as empathy, encouragement and guidance. *Nirmal Singh, a Kundalini Yoga Lead Teacher Trainer, has taught Kundalini Yoga since 1999 and has been a trainer since 2006. Nirmal also teaches Beyond Addiction: The Yogic Path to Recovery community support classes and training programs in Canada, the US and Peru. He has devoted himself to the study and practice of  yoga and meditation and holds the teachings of this ancient yoga (as taught by Yogi Bhajan) with utmost respect. Nirmal created ‘The Wellness Path’ in 2004 and produces 3HO yoga-related concerts, trainings, workshops and retreats. He is committed to a yogic lifestyle and believes self-empowerment comes with dedication to your path.

Tuition (in USD):
Registration fee: $300 required to hold a space (unless full price paid);
Early registration: $2,800 if paid by August 11, 2017 (less registration fee if paid separately);
Regular price: $3,150 if paid after August 11, 2017, but before course starts;

$1,250 which includes $300 deposit, dated August 11, 2017 (or $950 if registration fee paid separately)
$950 dated September 11, 2017
$950 dated October 11, 2017

Note: 10% discount applies to full-time students or seniors over 65 years of age

Refund Policy:
All requests to withdraw from the teacher training course must be received in writing. Those withdrawing prior to August 11, 2017 are eligible for a refund, minus a non-refundable $300 administrative fee. Those withdrawing after August 11, 2017, but before the start of the 2nd weekend, are eligible for a partial refund of $1000.00 only if full course payment received. There will be no refunds after the start of the 2nd weekend.
